Los Alamos MainStreet has received approval from the State of New Mexico for an area of our downtown be designated as a State recognized Arts & Culture District. The Los Alamos Creative Culture District is one of a handful of State designated Arts & Culture Districts. This blog is intended as a place to share information and invite discussion about this initiative.
I, Karen Wray, Owner of Karen Wray Fine Art-Gallery and Studio, was present at the meeting as well.
ReplyDelete"Year round events include those put on by..." should include Los Alamos's only private owned and operated art gallery, Karen Wray Fine Art.
#5. Public Art. Since my gallery has two, talented scrap metal sculptors, I would like to have them and other Los Alamos sculptors included in any public art projects. Three of my artists were scientists at LANL and elsewhere and are producing very interesting and innovative work. This ties in nicely with the science aspect of Los Alamos as it can be applied to fine art.
